REVEALED BOOKS

The word Book contains the word of God. The books revealed are in terms of chronology, the Old Testament, the New Testament which also includes the Psalms, and the Qur'an. The Torah was revealed to Moses, the Psalms to David, the Gospels to Jesus Christ and the Qur'an to Muhammad.

The Torah which had been revealed to Moses was destroyed together with the chest that contained the Ark of the Covenant during the invasion by the Babylonian Empire, The Psalms inspired to David told about the divine love; while the gospels which had been a single one in the beginning contained the revelations to Jesus, although adulterated in the course of time by the Church.

The Qur'an is the only book that has been kept and preserved intact. "We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption)." (15/9)

THE TORAH, THE PSALMS AND THE GOSPELS

It was We who revealed the law (to Moses): therein was guidance and light… (5/44)
Before this We wrote in the Psalms, after the Message (given to Moses): My servants the righteous, shall inherit the earth." (21/105)
And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the Law that had come before him: We sent him the Gospel: therein was guidance and light, and confirmation of the Law that had come before him: a guidance and an admonition to those who fear Allah. (5/46)

THE QUR'AN

Say: Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel-for he brings down the (revelation) to thy heart by Allah.s will, a confirmation of what went before, and guidance and glad tidings for those who believe,- (2/97)
O mankind! there hath come to you a direction from your Lord and a healing for the (diseases) in your hearts,- and for those who believe, a guidance and a Mercy. (10/57)
This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah. (2/2)
Follow (O men!) the revelation given unto you from your Lord, and follow not, as friends or protectors, other than Him. Little it is ye remember of admonition. (7/3)

Qur'an which means recitation has compiled in a miraculous manner the main laws to which mankind is subject. It is the only guide to the true path. It was revealed by God and conveyed to Muhammad through Gabriel. Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds:. With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. (26/192-194) . It is not fitting for a man that Allah should speak to him except by inspiration, or from behind a veil, or by the sending of a messenger to reveal, with Allah.s permission, what Allah wills: for He is Most High, Most Wise. (42/51)

Man has not been endowed with the capacity to speak face to face with the Supreme Being. It's only through the prophets can he be inspired, either in the waking state or in sleep. God may, if he so chooses, make himself heard through a bush like in the case of Moses or through Gabriel. By degrees shall We teach thee to declare (the Message), so thou shalt not forget, (87/6)

The Qur'an is a mercy. Mercy is a blessing regarded as an act of divine favor or compassion. Rahman and Rahim are both derived from rahmat, signifying tenderness requiring the exercise of beneficence and thus comprising the ideas of love and mercy. My mercy extendeth to all things. That (mercy) I shall ordain for those who do right, and practise regular charity, and those who believe in Our signs;- (7/156) Those who act according to the dictates of the Qur'an are promised to be placed in the garden of paradise.

The Qur'an leads men to the right path. And We made them leaders, guiding (men) by Our Command, and We sent them inspiration to do good deeds, to establish regular prayers, and to practise regular charity; and they constantly served Us (and Us only). (21/73) "And that ye should worship Me, (for that) this was the Straight Way? (36/61) . And those who strive in Our (cause),- We will certainly guide them to our Paths: For verily Allah is with those who do right. (29/69)

To be led to the true faith is by permission of God. It is true thou wilt not be able to guide every one, whom thou lovest; but Allah guides those whom He will and He knows best those who receive guidance (28/56) . But to those who receive Guidance, He increases the (light of) Guidance, and bestows on them their Piety and Restraint (from evil). (47/17)

The Qur'an is divine light, it illumines the souls. A Book which We have revealed unto thee, in order that thou mightest lead mankind out of the depths of darkness into light - by the leave of their Lord - to the Way of (Him) the Exalted in power, worthy of all praise!- (14/1)

The Qur'an acts potently upon one, invigorating or filling with exuberant energy or cheer. The Qur'an relieves men from distress; frees them from burdens, evils or pains; it gives one ease, comfort, or consolation.
