The Wrongdoing

Wrongdoing involves an oppressive, severe, and unjust domination according to the Qur'an. The contrary is equity.

God cannot be blamed for the wrongdoing of His creatures who are but slaves of their drives. Among the wrong doings that displeases God, are the attribution of partners to Him, profligacy, pride, treachery.

GOD DOES NOT FAVOR THE WRONGDOER

... Allah loveth not those who do wrong (3/57)
... for Allah guides not people given to wrong-doing. (28/50)
… the Curse of Allah is on those who do wrong! (11/18)

The wrongdoers, the inveterate transgressors of divine laws are cursed by God.

THE IGNORANT, A SLAVE TO HIS VIOLENT IMPULSES

… the wrong-doers (merely) follow their own lusts, being devoid of knowledge.(30/29)
… But turn away from the ignorant. (7/199)

The wrongdoer is an ignorant person who cannot restrain himself from evil impulses. He disregards the very first injunction of the Qur'an: “Read!” He is ignorant of the divine law and enthralled by his momentary drives, amongst which terror, vice of all sorts and ingratitude, etc. should be quoted.

THE MAN WRONGS HIS OWN SOUL

… It is man that wrongs his own soul. (10/44)
…"This is because of the deeds which thy hands sent forth, for verily Allah is not unjust to His servants. (22/10)

No punishment is administered so long as the divine law is not violated. Inveterate offenders receive their reward sooner or later.

MAN'S WRONGDOINGS

And who is more unjust than he who forbids that in places for the worship of Allah (2/114)
O my son! join not in worship (others) with Allah. for false worship is indeed the highest wrong-doing." (31/13)
Who doth more wrong than those who invent a lie against Allah. They will be turned back to the presence of their Lord, and the witnesses will say, "These are the ones who lied against their Lord! Behold! the Curse of Allah is on those who do wrong!- "Those who would hinder (men) from the path of Allah and would seek in it something crooked: these were they who denied the Hereafter!" (11/18-19)
And who does more wrong than one to whom are recited the Signs of his Lord, and who then turns away therefrom? (32/22)

Those who attribute partners to God commit the most grievous sin. For such people severe chastisement has been apportioned. God has established an order and laid down His laws. People who, in disregard of God's laws, prefer to act according to the dictates of their instincts are considered abominable creatures. "And if any fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (No better than) wrong-doers." (5/45)

SELF-MORTIFICATION

… there are among them some who wrong their own souls … (35/32)
O ye who believe! make not unlawful the good things which Allah hath made lawful for you, but commit no excess… (5/87)

Nafs is the integrated unity of subjective experience specifically including those characteristics and attributes of the experiencing organism of which it is reflexively aware. Denying oneself such gifts of the world as mates, money, assets, automobiles, entertainment, etc. or replacing them with excessive passion for them are both considered self-inflicted torture. The path to be followed should be the middle one.

FATE OF THE WRONGDOERS

How many populations have We destroyed, which were given to wrong- doing? They tumbled down on their roofs … (22/45)
… nor are We going to destroy a population except when its members practise iniquity. (28/59)

Countries will be destroyed if their population continues to be sunken into the wire of iniquities. Typical examples of such countries are Pharoah's realm, Noah's tribes, the Roman Empire and the post-war Germany

FIGHT IN THE CAUSE OF THE WRONGED

And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)?- Men, women, and children, whose cry is: "Our Lord! Rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from thee one who will protect; and raise for us from thee one who will help!" Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah, and those who reject Faith Fight in the cause of Evil: So fight ye against the friends of Satan: feeble indeed is the cunning of Satan. (4/75-76)

In addition to one's fight for self-defense against the aggressor, the Qur'an also foresees fight against the oppressed. Satan and his followers should be fought tooth and nail and everything must be done to foil their plots.

VICTORY OVER THE WRONGDOERS

The blame is only against those who oppress men and wrong-doing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and justice: for such there will be a penalty grievous. (42/42)
To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to fight), because they are wronged;- and verily, Allah is most powerful for their aid;- (They are) those who have been expelled from their homes in defiance of right,- (for no cause) except that they say, "our Lord is Allah.. Did not Allah check one set of people by means of another, there would surely have been pulled down monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, in which the name of Allah is commemorated in abundant measure. Allah will certainly aid those who aid his (cause);- for verily Allah is full of Strength, Exalted in Might, (able to enforce His Will). They are) those who, if We establish them in the land, establish regular prayer and give regular charity, enjoin the right and forbid wrong: with Allah rests the end (and decision) of (all) affairs (22/39-41)

Not only the persons wronged must take up arms against the oppressor but also other people must be their companions of arms. This is the way to subdue the enemy and bring about peace.

THE WRONGDOERS WILL BE DESTROYED

… Verily We shall cause the wrong-doers to perish! (14/13)
… But the wrong-doers,- for them has He prepared a grievous Penalty. (76/31)
Thus do we make the wrong-doers turn to each other, because of what they earn. (6/129)

The wrongdoer will sooner or later is doomed to perdition. Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah, and those who reject Faith Fight in the cause of Evil: So fight ye against the friends of Satan: feeble indeed is the cunning of Satan. (4/76) "Thus do we make the wrong-doers turn to each other, because of what they earn." (6/129) is laid down according to which the evildoers are exterminated by their fellow beings.
