FORGIVENESS OF SINS The Old Testament, the Psalms and the Qur'an state that sins may be forgiven by God, while the New Testament says only Lord Jesus Christ who enjoys the rank of God can forgive sins. On the other hand, the priests also claim that they have the authority to absolve people from their sins.
